Simply being able to draw vectors on a tablet wouldn’t be good enough.

Since this is an app offered in the App store, it’s tailored specifically for tablets, which means that people at Adobe have worked really hard to make this application as little as possible so that it can run on a more restricted hardware such as a tablet. That said, it still allows you to use the most important tools from the original software, which are enough for you to create professional work on your iPad. Obviously, this app is much simpler than the original Illustrator and does not have certain tools and resources. But it’s just not there yet for AI.Yes you can! Adobe has released a light version of Adobe Illustrator specifically for tablet devices, it’s called Adobe Illustrator Draw. I would like to be able to switch to a tablet, I miss sitting on the bus with my sketchbook. Went back to the 13” laptop with external tablet. Tried a Wacom Mobile Studio too, its screen was just too damn tiny to be any fun, plus it didn’t fit in any of my bags. I tried a Surface Pro 4 for a while and it was almost okay despite being full of Windows but not being able to get rid of its chronic input lag on the Pencil tool killed it for me, I’ve drawn an entire graphic novel largely with that tool and I’m not changing my workflow. Or maybe I sit out on the porch if there’s not a monsoon passing through the city. When I come home I plug the laptop into a bigger screen, tablet, and backup drives. I can’t really draw in a single seat on the bus but I can plop the Intuos on top of my bag and sit on the ground, or a bench, or take up a table. My setup: 13” Mac laptop (a sequence of Airs, currently a non-touchbar Pro), a Wacom tablet (used Intuos 4, same size as the Mac, fits nicely into my bag) and a sunscreen (home made out of some black illustration board and masking tape, plus some magnets so it can cling to the magnets inside the top of the Mac’s bezel). I’ve been doing a lot of my work sitting in parks and cafes for years. Adobe is supposedly working on one but given that their release of Photoshop for the iPad is gonna start out with a limited set of tools, I’m not holding my breath waiting for Illustrator to get to the point where I can seamlessly move my files back and forth.
